Tūtū’s Meatloaf
Ingredients:
| Meatloaf: | |
| 2 1/2 - 3 lbs | ground beef |
| 1 | large onion, chopped |
| 1 tbsp | garlic |
| 1/4 tsp | pepper |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 | egg, beaten |
| 1/2 cup | breadcrumbs |
| 1/2 cup | oats |
| 3/4 cup | tomato sauce |
| 2 tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
| Sauce: | |
| 8 tbsp | brown sugar |
| 4 tbsp | vinegar |
| 4 tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 cup | ketchup |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
- Saute onion and garlic and set aside to cool
- Combine all meatloaf items and form into loaf on a foil-lined cookie sheet. Using either end of a chopstick, poke holes to the bottom -- all over the meatloaf.
- Combine all sauce items and heat to a low boil; pour ½ of the heated sauce over the raw meatloaf and bake for about 45 minutes. Cooking time may vary; internal temperature needs to be 160.
- At 45 minutes, pour the remainder of the sauce over the meatloaf and bake for 15 additional minutes
