Since my mother grew up in El Salvador she learned how to make Pupusas so I learned to make this dish on my own.


As neededwater
8 cupsMaseca - corn flour
3 cupsrefried beans
2 cupsMexican style cheese


  1. Mix water and Maseca until it is dough-like. It will dry up so add water when it does.
  2. Mix the refried beans with the cheese
  3. Shape the Maseca mix into a bowl-like shape and add the bean and cheese mix
  4. Close up the bowl, then pat it until it is thin
  5. Fry until golden brown
