Manju

Ingredients:

2 cansAn - sweet Japanese bean
4 blocksbutter
4 tbspsugar
5 cupsflour
½ cupcold water
1whisked egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, sugar, flour and water to make dough

Form The Manju:

  1. Start with dough about the size of a golf ball and flatten to a 5” circle
  2. Add about 1 tablespoon of An to the center
  3. Fold over edges and seal
  4. Place manju on ungreased baking pan
  5. Brush egg over top and sides of manju
  6. Bake for 30 minutes
