What motto best describes your outlook on life?

During this season, the best motto that describes my outlook on life is progress over perfection. At the beginning of my first semester in college, I was very hard on myself and expected an easy transition. Although that wasn't the case, it took me some time to adjust and truly settle into this new chapter in my life.

What has being awarded the Grove Farm Scholarship meant to you?

Receiving the Grove Farm Scholarship has meant a great deal to me. I am deeply grateful for the financial support and encouragement from the entire Grove Farm committee. Having the opportunity to pursue higher education and work toward a career I am passionate about feels even more meaningful knowing that I have a community cheering me on. That sense of support continues to motivate and encourage me as I move through my studies.

What have you learned about yourself while you’ve been away?

One thing I've learned about myself while being away is that I don't enjoy being alone. I miss the presence of my family and friends around me, but that just gives me more excitement to go back. Being away from home forced me to face uncertainty and challenges on my own, and instead of breaking me, those moments helped me grow. I learned that I am capable of standing on my own, finding strength in my faith, and pushing forward with resilience.

What drives you?

My faith and loved ones are my greatest sources of strength, especially when the demands of college feel overwhelming. In times of doubt, I remind myself of the many blessings in my life, which helps me stay grounded and keep going. It gives me hope to know that every bit of effort I put in now is bringing me close to a meaningful career that I am truly passionate about. The new people I've met, the experiences I've gained, and the lessons I've learned about my own strengths and weaknesses so far have built a foundation I can fall back on.
